Back to Class News Kent Olson AIS Class of 1969 olson@calpoison.org
Dear Friends and Family, Everyone is home from college and we are all enjoying the sounds and smells of our two dogs and the neighbor pooch rolling around the house after getting soaked in yet another Bay Area rainstorm. Donna continues at Hospice and Palliative Care of Contra Costa, a not-for-profit community hospice with a wonderful and dedicated staff. Kent is still with the Poison Control Center and continues to enjoy teaching medical students at the UC Berkeley-UC San Francisco Joint Medical Program. He thought seriously about finally retiring from emergency medicine (after 26 years in the ER), but decided he still loves clinical medicine and found colleagues who are willing to split shifts with him. Bradley graduated from UC Davis in June and has decided to stay and pursue a Masters in Food Science. The first quarter of graduate school has been busy but he still finds plenty of time to cook, especially at family gatherings. Earlier this month Brad traveled to New York City to visit his old college roommate and see live tapings of Daily Show with Jon Stewart and the Colbert Report. [Thus, the Daily Show tickets he is waving in the picture.] Marlene is in her fourth year at UC Davis, having returned in August after four months abroad in Göttingen, Germany. She has since adjusted to life back in America, complete with Central Valley strip malls, drive-thrus and extended work hours. Graduation in June is pending, provided that she negotiates her way through the paperwork and bureaucracy such events inevitably demand. Luckily, Germany taught her well. Greg is a sophomore at the University of Redlands in Southern California, pursuing an emphasis in Recording Arts from the school's Johnston Center. Best wishes to you all, Kent, Donna, Bradley, Marlene & Greg Olson |
