KC Gray Siebert, AIS class of 1970, and her husband, Neal, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on board the Paul Gauguin, near the Marquesas and Society islands in the South Pacific, January 2007.

Neal and I are off to Bermuda tomorrow, Saturday. We have a time share there until 2017. We absolutely love our two bedroom two bath townhouse in St. Georges overlooking the harbor where cruise ships dock. The stars are magnificent, the weather perfect, and the ocean…oh my!

Earlier this year we traveled to Tahiti, Bora Bora, the Marquesas and Society Islands, before spending two weeks in Hawaii, followed by one month in Costa Rica. Since then we have been to Philadelphia to see the King Tut exhibit and The Barnes Museum. After Bermuda we are headed to Italy for three ½ weeks followed by two weeks in Maine, one week in Key West, and…Neal will head to Las Vegas for the Cigar Aficionado Big Smoke for a week while I display my beading at area fall shows. Check out my fall show schedule at http://wovenwarp.com.

Have a most wonderful summer. If you're free join lots of us at Anne Beattie Kerr's September picnic in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains in Castleton, VA on Saturday, September 28th. Let Anne know if you can come by calling her (540) 937-5483 or emailing her at AKerr79349@aol.com.

KC and Neal in India
KC and Neal on their four footed taxi in Kerala, South India.

Neal and I have caught the traveling bug since retiring. This year alone we will have been gone 24 weeks.

Our destinations have been: Hawaii – on the Pride of Aloha (which we DEFINITELY DON’T RECOMMEND), Jim Newberry and his wife hosted a dinner party where Dave and Debbie Starbuck, and David Wunsch came; southern India (with Judy Newberry and her husband Bob Ashley); Hong Kong (again with Judy and Bob but also saw Taka Yamanouchi and his daughter); California – Fresno and Ripon (seeing Neal’s family) and Sonoma/Napa and San Francisco (resting up from family); San Antonio, Texas (seeing my parents); Savannah, GA for our god-daughter’s wedding; Key West with 14 of our dearest friends!; Bermuda; Maine; Scotland, Ireland, England (again with Judy and Bob); and Las Vegas for the Big Smoke, Neal’s passion.

Jim Newberry, KC, David Wunsch, and Debbie and Dave Starbuck, at the Newberry's home in Hawaii.

Tim Brown has developed a wonderful webpage wovenwarp.com for me and when I’m in town taking part in craft shows and hosting home beading parties.

Neal finds himself working for product at a local cigar shop and on Wednesday’s we both volunteer for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Our life is full with traveling, volunteering, beading and cigar smoking.

Namaste,

KC

April 2005

KC and Archie KC shares some of her AIS scrapbook memories with Archie Brown, April, 2005.
I left Delhi in 1969, just 3 years, 17 days, 8 hours, and 10 minutes after I arrived on Pan Am 1, after spending my Freshmen – Junior years at AIS, I actually graduated from W.T. Woodson in Fairfax, VA. I remember a realtor telling my father that Annandale was a better school (they had won the football championship) for a few years. My Dad laughed and said I don’t think they let girls play! My senior year here was very uneventful and I missed all my Delhi buds so bad that I started the Alumni Association in 1970.

I’ve since gone on to have reunions in 75, 80, 85, 2001, and now 2005 in the Washington, D.C. area. In 1990 I held one for the west coast folks at Lake Tahoe and in 1995 in New Delhi. Each year the numbers who attend have grown and grown. I actually stated that I retired from the reunion business at the last reunion, oh well, I’m back at it again, but with a marvelous committee, and a newly elected AIS AES Board of Directors. We even pay taxes now to the Feds as we have a Fed Tax ID #. We are an official alumni association and now your dues are tax deductible! So please drop a check for $25 in the mail to cover dues for one year. Remember to keep us informed of your postal address and email changes… other than your Mom we are the most important connection you have to your friends.

My husband and I retired in January, 2005 and can tell you with all candor – RETIREMENT is wonderful. Neal leaves for Italy in May for a motorcycle trip thru Tuscany, and I’m beading and working on the reunion. If you’re still undecided about coming, don’t miss this reunion. It promises to be even more fun then the last in 2001.
