Alfred Poor AIS class of 1969 apoor@bellatlantic.net

March 18, 2008

I was in Delhi for the second half of 9th grade, and all of 10th. I was stage manager and had a cameo role in Around the World in 80 Days. The year and a half I spent in India was a special and influential time in my life.

After a stint in education and computer consulting, I became a freelance writer and spent 20+ years writing for PC Magazine and other computer magazines. Three years ago, I realized that the need for computer information has declined, so I retooled and repackaged myself as an HDTV expert (see www.hdtvprofessor.com). I also currently work with a market research firm that tracks the HDTV market.

My wife and I've been married for 35 years come this June. We have a daughter and a son, and thanks to the daughter and her husband, our first grandchild arrived last January.

My wife is a potter, so we spend a bunch of weekends at craft shows in the Philadelphia area. We're also involved in music, and have a sailboat on the Chesapeake that we get to as often as we can.

I can't recall contact with any AIS classmates since leaving India, but a few of the names on the Web site do ring a bell.

Thanks for reaching out,

Alfred
