Thanks for asking about any follow up or continuation of activities among us older folks. In New Delhi I taught what was then "American Civilisation", and also US Government. I taught grades 11 and 12. It was great fun. I enjoyed it very much. I taught starting 1969 and ending in 1971. Our family served in Pakistan with USAID from 1971-1977. I taught for about 4 years there. I also worked for USAID for 2 years - History, and Government, in the Senior High (The International School of Islamabad) in Islamabad. In 1977 Our family returned to the States after a 10 year stint in India and Pakistan combined, (1967-1977) and the children went to school here in McLean, VA. Husband (Bill McIntyre) continued his work in USAID and worked in the Congressional Liaison Office on AID's program budget. In 1981 we were stationed in Beruit, Lebanon. My husband was the USAID Rep there and was killed April 18th, 1983, when Hezbollah attacked our Embassy there. I came home. While in Beruit I taught Political Science and English at The American University of Beirut, Hagazian College, and Al Maqassed. In Washington I worked at USAID as a Foreign Service Officer, then was sent to Dhaka, Bangladesh in February 1985 and worked there until August 1988. From then until I retired in 2000 I worked in the USAID civil service and had the best of both worlds: I could live here and travel on TDYs to the South Pacific, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia. I worked with NGOs in supporting their extension work in humanitarian assistance. Since I retired I took a course at George Mason University in conflict resolution; studied voice overs with a teacher and learned some techniques of acting; became active in local Democratic Party politics in Virginia and nationally; lastly, I'm working with a TV, movie producer to do docu-dramas on important people. I do the research on them and we work up likely dialogues based on historical events. I love it. On a personal level, after being a widow for 26 years and 9 months, my college sweetheart, John Parker, and I married on January 16th, 2010. Am I lucky or what!
