Back to Classmates
February 6, 2007, revised March 3, 2007 Sharon Rawlins Mavis AIS class of 1970 gsmavis@sbcglobal.net
Every few years I check out the AIS web-page and enjoy scrolling pictures of people whose names and faces are familiar. Robin Murphy's pictorial writing was great. I've hoped to get to a reunion but I'm inspired to go now after an accidental meeting with a man who graduated from Kodai in 1970. Our conversation was full of questions about knowing this or that person; comparing our memories of places and people. Did you know that AIS was the school the missionary kids went after being kicked out of the mission schools? One of my fellow boarders was a Kodai kid... At this time, on a snowy day in February, it's my day off from my part-time job as a Children's Specialist with our local Carnegie Library. My husband's job is rather off too as a grain farmer. Our children, Rachael and James are both married and enjoying their respective spouses. I'm soon to be a grandmother. I'm sorry, but that's weird... [Editor's note: Sharon's first grandchild, Ian Mavis, was born February 28.] If any classmates/boarders from 1970 or any class are ever in or near Ohio, please visit or call. We always have room for company. - Sharon Rawlins Mavis 1970
