Sarah Bohr AIS class of 1970 Sarahhbohr@aol.com
In December my daughter Meredith came to Las Vegas to watch me dance with my dance instructor, Pasha Cherdantsau, at the Holiday Dance Classic, and see me take sixth place in the Pro/Am Bronze 9-dance (cha cha, rumba, swing, bolero, mambo, waltz, tango, foxtrot, and Viennese waltz) competing for the U.S. title! We also attended Pasha's wedding with his dance partner, Svetlana Rudkovskaya, at a Las Vegas wedding chapel. The picture of us was taken just after the wedding. Dancing fills my life with joy! I dance 5-6 days each week, with work and friends filling up the remaining hours of the day. My law practice has really taken off, and Meredith's bedroom is now my file room! I became President of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives at the November conference in Orlando and quoted one of my Dad's favorite sayings in my brief speech to the 900 attendees - Illegitimis nil Carborundum (Don't let the bastards get you down)! I also managed to find time to travel a bit this year, with a fabulous trip to Washington, D.C. to attend my 35-year high school reunion from the American International School in New Delhi, India. Meredith is now a senior at Marymount Manhattan College and will graduate in May with a degree in Communications and a minor in business. She has grown into an elegant, funny, bright and delightful young woman of 22, who, like her parents, is a hard worker and not afraid of challenge. Much to our surprise she announced over the summer that she has decided to go to law school! (With two lawyer parents, I guess we should not have been so shocked). This fall, she has been taking the LSAT review course, along with a tough workload at college, while also managing to work 2-3 days a week as a waitress at a restaurant/night club, with shifts usually running rom 5 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.! Good thing she has lots of energy. As another year ends, we pause to think of family and friends who touch our lives every day and wish all of you a happy and healthy new year! Sarah January 2006
